(a) whether the Government have since decided to procure Advanced Jet Trainer for Indian Air Force;
(b) if so, the source of its acquisition and the number of AJTs proposed to be procured along with its specification and cost;
(c) the stage at which the procurement process stands at present; and
(d) the time by which the delivery is expected?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) 66 Nos. of AJTs are proposed to be procured from
M/s British Aerospace Systems, UK of which, 24 will be
through direct supply and remaining 42, through licenced
manufacture by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The
aircraft, being offered, is Hawk 115-Y. The cost is yet
to be negotiated.
(c) The procurement process stands at the price
negotiation stage.
(d) The first deliveries may begin after 35 months from
the date of signing of the contract.
