(a) whether the Government of Rajasthan has sent any proposal for setting up of
new Panchayat Training Centres for approval;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the action taken by the Union Government thereon; and
(d) the funds approved by the Union Government therefor?

(a):- No, Sir. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has not received any proposal for setting
up new Panchayat Training Centres from the State Government of Rajasthan, but stands
ready to consider any such proposal, if submitted.
(b),(c) & (d):- The Ministry of Panchayati Raj supports capacity building training
programmes of newly elected members so that they can effectively carry out their duties
and responsibilities as envisaged in the Constitution. For this purpose, the Ministry has
earmarked a total of Rs.29.40 crores for the current financial year 2005-06.
