Question : MALFUNCTIONING IN NTC



(a) whether some Members of Parliament have complaints against the malfunctioning of NTC Mills and showrooms, set up in Bihar;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has conducted any inquiry in this regard;

(d) if so, the outcome thereof; and

(e) the action taken against the officials found guilty?

(a) & (b) : Some communications have been received from Hon’ble Members of Parliament wherein the following allegations against the Officials of Retail Marketing Division, Patna, National Textile Corporation (NTC) have been brought out:

1. Supply of dhotis/ sarees by RMD, Patna worth Rs. 1.30 lakhs to District Authority, Patna;

2. Accumulation of cloth/stocks worth Rs. 10.00 lakhs in the godown of RMD, Patna which has since got damaged;

3. Vacation and handing-over of the possession of the premises of the showrooms at Jamshedpur to the land-lord and subsequently opening of the another showroom on rent;

4. Misuse of staff- car etc.;

5. Illegal hiring of cars despite having own staff-car;

6. Illegal and uncalled expenses in the name of renovation of NTC showrooms at Poornia and Patna;

7. Purchase from outside agencies without any requirement.

8. Unjustified tour expenses.

(c) to (e) : No, Sir. However, NTC has initiated a preliminary enquiry into the matter, which is yet to complete.
