Question : CANCELLATION OF LICENCES OF NDMC KIOSKS



(a) whether the Government proposes to cancel the licences of New Delhi Municipal Corporation kiosks which are violating the norms laid down for the purpose in Delhi;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has received any complaint in regard to cancellation of licences of NDMC kiosks;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the action taken by the Government thereon?

(a) & (b): The New Delhi Municipal Council has reported that whenever any case of violation of rules/regulations or terms and conditions by the owner of kiosk is noticed or is detected, a show cause notice is issued to the owner of the kiosk. In case the reply is not found to be satisfactory, further action for cancellation of licence is initiated in accordance with the extant rules/regulations on the subject.

(c) to (e): A complaint was received regarding encroachment on municipal land by a kiosk-holder at North Avenue. The owner of the kiosk has been issued a show cause notice.
