(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) At present four Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) are under construction, two each at Kakrapar in Gujarat (2 x 700 MW) and at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan (2 x 700 MW). Start of work on eight (8) 700 MW capacity indigenous PHWRs, on twin unit basis, is planned in the XII Five Year Plan. These are planned to be located in the states of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka
(c) Yes Sir. The share of the indigenous heavy water reactors is expected to be nearly half of the total capacity envisaged by the end of the XIII/beginning of XIV Five Year Plan. More PHWRs are also envisaged in the future.
