Question : Construction of Roads in Bihar

(a) the number of roads being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Bihar especially in Rohtas and Aurangabad districts;

(b) the number of roads for which construction work is pending for years in the country including in Rohtas and Aurangabad districts of Bihar;

(c) the time by which the construction of the above roads is likely to be completed;

(d) the number of proposed roads to connect all villages of Rohtas and Aurangabad districts with the perennial roads; and

(e) the time by which the said work is likely to be completed?

(a) The State of Bihar has been sanctioned 18,109 road works measuring length 58,979 Km under various interventions/verticals of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), out of which 16,140 road works measuring length 51,395 Km has been completed till 14.11.2019. The status of completion of road works in the districts of Rohtas and Aurangabad in the State of Bihar are given as under:-

(b): Since inception, a total of 1,71,579 road works have been sanctioned under PMGSY in the Country, out of which 1,52,776 road works have already been completed. Number of road works pending in the districts of Rohtas and Aurangabad are given below:-

@Balance road length is less than the difference of sanctioned and completed length due to the reasons that some habitations were connected with less than the sanctioned length due to reduction in curve length, change in alignment, construction of part length by other agencies, etc.

(c): As reported by the State Government, pending road works under PMGSY in Rohtas and Aurangabad Districts are targeted for completion by June, 2020.

(d) to (e): All weather roads have been already been sanctioned for all eligible and feasible habitations of Rohtas and Aurangabad Districts under PMGSY. 1535 habitations in Aurangabad District and 967 habitations in Rohtas District have already been provided road connectivity. The remaining eligible and feasible habitations in these districts are targeted for all-weather road connectivity by June, 2020.
