THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES (SHRI JAI PRAKASH NARAYAN YADAV)

(a) & (b) Auranga Reservoir Scheme which consists of a Level Crossing named “Amanat Barrage” on the river Amanat was cleared by the Planning Commission in September 1983 for a cost of Rs. 185.40 crore. Subsequently in 1993 revised cost estimate of Rs. 247.61 Crore was accepted by the Advisory Committee of Ministry of Water Resources subject to clearance from Ministry of Environment & Forest and Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The State Government has submitted the revised proposal costing Rs. 914.24 crore for Auranga Reservoir Scheme on river Amanat to Central Water Commission for appraisal. The clearance of the Scheme depends on the compliance of the State Government to the observations of the Central Appraisal Agencies and subsequently the completion of the Scheme will depend upon the priority given to the Scheme by the State Government.
