Question : Monitoring Mechanism for NHs

(a) the details of the mechanism adopted to monitor income-expenditure, repair and maintenance of National Highway;

(b) the details of the expenditure incurred on the repair of the Udaipur to Khairwada block on NH 8 along with income earned during the last three years and current year; and

(c) the time by which the maintenance work of the aforesaid stretch is likely to be completed in current financial year?

(a) The revenue(income) is generated by tolling of National Highways. In order to monitor the allocation and expenditure for development and maintenance regular review meetings are held at Head Quarter and Regional Offices including meetings headed by Minister for Road Transport Highways and Shipping.

(b) The details of the expenditure incurred on the repair of the Udaipur to Khairwada is annexed.

(c) NHAI has approved an estimate for an amount of Rs. 56.04 Cr for Special Repair work including renewal of 95.56 km, out of total length of 220.36 km (equivalent to 2-lane) on Udaipur to Ratanpur section from km 278.00 to km 388.180 of NH-8 in the State of Rajasthan. Kherwara town exists at Km 352.300 of NH-8. Tenders were invited which were received and opened on 30.11.2015. The approval of bid is under process. The work is expected to commence from Jan-2016 with time period for completion as 12 months. Routine Maintenance of this stretch is being carried out under O&M contract.
