(a) to (d) :Yes, Sir. Recognizing the immense potential of fisheries sector and aiming towards sustainable utilization of water and fisheries resources in the country, the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has formulated and is implementing a flagship scheme namely “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)” with highest ever investment of ? 20050 crore in fisheries sector for a period of 5 years with effect from the financial year 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 in all States/Union Territories aiming sustainable development of fisheries, increasing employment opportunities in fisheries and aquaculture. PMMSY, inter-alia, supports promotion of capture and culture fisheries in river and estuarine waters and the activities supported towards this end include cage and pen culture, providing replacement boats, fishing nets and other fishing implements, necessary communication devices, post harvest handling, fish marketing like construction of fish retail markets and fish kiosks, fish transport facilities, cold storages and ice plants. Besides, a dedicated River Ranching programme has also been launched under PMMSY to improve the riverine fish stocks to ensure sustainability of riverine fisheries and generating sustainable income to the fishers. Further, development of fish landing centres along the rivers & estuaries, promotion of brackishwater aquaculture are also supported under the PMMSY.
