(a) the number of companies registered in the country with the Registrar of Companies as on date, State-wise;
(b) the number of companies, out of these, which have been closed during each of the last three years, State-wise;
(c) the reasons for closure of these companies; and
(d) whether the Union Government have taken steps to revive these companies, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) and (b): The details of the number of companies registered in the country with the Registrar of Companies as on date, State-wise are given in Annexure-A and the details of number of companies, out of these, which have been closed during each of the last three years, State-wise are given in Annexure-B.
(c) and (d): There are no provisions in the Companies Act to monitor the reasons for closure of the companies and revive under the said Act. However, there are provisions for removal of the name of the companies Under Section 248 of the Companies Act, 2013 to remove name of the company from the Register of Companies if it is not carrying on any business or operation for a period of 02 immediately preceding financial years and has not made any application within such period for obtaining the status of a dormant company. Besides, some companies are dissolved by the orders of the High Court or NCLT.
