(a): Government of India, through Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, provides an enabling ecosystem of overall industrial development in the country, including Budelkhand, through appropriate policy interventions. Setting up of industry is primarily the domain of State Governments.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has taken special measures to promote industrial investment in the Bundelkhand region of the State. The details of various policies are as under:
(i) Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy (IIEPP)- 2017 and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Policy (MSMEP)- 2017. Under these policies, special promotion like 100% reimbursement of net SGST paid or 20% of the capital invested is provided to the units of this region. Similarly, 100% exemption from stamp duty is provided to units for purchase of land in this region.
(ii) UP Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2020 provides 50% land subsidy on prevailing sector rates as compared to 25% land subsidy in other areas, to Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)/ Project Implementing Agency (PIA) of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) / Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Parks and individual ESDM units on purchase of land from State Agencies in Bundelkhand and Purvanchal regions.
(iii) UP Data Centre Policy-2021 provides 50% Land subsidy on prevailing sector rates as compared to 25% land subsidy in other areas, on purchase/ lease on land from State Agencies in Bundelkhand and Purvanchal regions.
(iv) UP Startup Policy-2020: Under the policy, Special Incentives are admissible to the incubators and startups situated in Bundelkhand/ Purvanchal region. As compared to the maximum limit of Rs 1.0 crore capital grant for setting up/ scaling up the technology infrastructure for the private host institutes, Rs 1.25 crore is admissible for incubators established in Bundelkhand/ Purvanchal region.
Policy also provides that for startups with registered offices/ operations in Bundelkhand / Purvanchal region, additional 50% Sustenance Allowance and Seed Capital/ Marketing Assistance is admissible as compared to Rs 15,000/ per month sustenance allowance and Rs 5.00 lakhs Seed Capital/ Marketing Assistance.
