Question : Renovation of Delhi Flight Kitchen

(a) the details of the sanctioned/existing staff strength of Flight Kitchen, Delhi, a unit of Hotel Corporation of India Limited (HCIL);

(b) whether the Government proposes to renovate the said Flight Kitchen and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has any proposal to provide a separate unit head for this Flight Kitchen and a permanent Managing Director to HCIL and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether any proposal is under consideration of the Government to raise the retirement age of the employees of HCIL; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with the time by which a final decision is likely to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) : As on 01.07.2015, the sanctioned staff strength of Chefair Flight Catering Delhi (CFCD) is 422 and filled strength is 90 (permanent) in addition to Temporary-01, Casuals-51 and Contractual-07.

(b) : Government has approved Rs.35.29 crores to Hotel Corporation of India Ltd. (HCIL) for renovation of its properties located at Delhi and Srinagar. Out of this, Rs. 22.00 crores has been released to HCIL for renovation of its properties. Chefair Flight Catering has undergone renovation together with Centaur Hotel, Delhi. The water proofing work of roof top of Chefair, Delhi along with Centaur Hotel, Delhi had been carried out (being common area) at a cost of Rs.1.43 crores together with replacement of Air Handling Units (Rs.0.34 crores) and, Cold Storages and Blast Freezer (Rs.0.34 crores). All these works have been completed in the first phase.

In the second phase, an amount of Rs.2 crores has been earmarked for Chefair, Delhi for procurement of Kitchen Equipments and 02 nos. of Hilifts required for upliftment of food to the airlines.

(c) : Presently, Government has requested Public Enterprises Selection Board to initiate the process of selection for filling up of the Managing Director in HCIL.

(d): No, Madam.

(e) : Does not arise in view of (d) above.
