(a) whether the Union Government have assessed the monthly requirement of levy sugar on the basis of present population; (

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and (

(c) the quantity of levy sugar required for festival quota, State-wise?

(a), (b) & (c) : Yes Sir. The Union Government have assessed the monthly requirement of levy sugar on the basis of projected population as on 1.3.1999. The State/UT-wise details together with annual festival quota is given in annexure.
