Question : VIOLATION OF ENVIRONMENT LAWS



(a) whether the Government propose to formulate a law to take legal action against the persons violating environmental norms keeping in view the increasing environmental pollution in the country:

(a) Government has enacted the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air

(Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991 for the prevention and control of pollution. These Acts are being implemented through Central and State Pollution Control Boards and Pollution Control Committees. Legal action is taken against violation of environmental norms prescribed under these Acts.
