(a): Yes, Sir.
(b)&(c): The news-item dated october 22, 2001 that appeared in
the `Hindustan Times`, was regarding lack of infrastructural
facilities in Dwarka. In this regard, the Delhi Development
Authority have reported that in a sub-city like Dwarka for
development, different agencies are involved in providing
physical and social infrastructural facilities. The DDA is
responsible for providing internal and peripheral services like
roads, drains, sewerage, water supply, etc. that have been
completed as per services plans approved by the Local Bodies.
Two lane carriageway to open up the area and to provide
accessibility to the residents has been provided by the DDA. It
has now been decided that roads along with streetlights shall be
provided by the DDA to final specification. The work on roads
with streetlights is in progress and is expected to be completed
in about one and a half years time. Further, land for
dispensary, three police stations and one bus terminal has also
been handed over to the concerned authorities. 02 Nos. Police
Posts in Sector-8 Dwarka and Manglapuri and one Post Office in
Sector 15, Dwarka are already functioning. The Bus Services
covering almost all Sectors of Dwarka, are also functioning.
The DDA has further reported that regular meetings of the
Project Implementation Committee to monitor the progress of
various developments, i.e. physical as well as social
infrastructure are held, to expedite the work.
(d)&(e): Yes, Sir. The members of the Cooperative Group
Housing Societies are made aware about the progress of major
physical and social infrastructure like Master Plan Roads,
Street-lighting, Maude Road (road connecting Dwarka to Old NH-8
through Cantt. Area). They are also made aware about the
targets given by various departments for taking up social
infrastructure like Hospitals, ISBT, Bus Terminals, Telephone
Exchange, Fire Stations, Police Stations, Post Offices, Milk
Booths, etc.
