(a) whether the Government has deployed a team to National Institute of Technology
(NITs) Srinagar to assess the situation there;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the team which visited NIT Srinagar has submitted a detailed report to the
Government on the situation facing the NIT, Srinagar; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government on the basis of
the said report?

(a) to (d): Yes Madam. The Ministry of Human Resource Development had sent its
team to take stock of the situation in wake of reported tension on the campus at NIT,
Srinagar. As it was a law & order situation, the local administration handled the situation.
The State Government was requested to take all necessary measures to ensure the
safety and security of all the students. Academic and administrative measures have been
taken by the NIT, Srinagar. Since then, normal academic activities have been restored
and there is complete normalcy at the campus.
