Question : WATER STANDARD FOR SOFT DRINKS

(a) whether the Government has set any standard for the quality of water to be used for making soft drinks; and

(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The standards of Carbonated Water,generally known as soft drinks, are laid down vide item A.01.01 of Appendix B of PFA Rules,1955,which prescribes that water used in the manufacture of Carbonated Water shall conform to the standards for packaged drinking water prescribed under PFA Rules 1955.
