Question : Achievements of CEFPPC Scheme

(a) whether the Creation/Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation Capacity (CEFPPC) scheme has been successful in achieving the objectives regarding creation of processing and preservation capacity as well as the modernization/expansion of existing food processing units with a view to increase the level of processing and value addition;

(b) whether there has been any reduction of wastage through this;

(c) whether the quality of the end products has been improved; and

(d) the details of the fund allocated by the Government for this purpose, State- wise?

(a): Yes Sir.


(b): Due to increase in the level of processing, value addition and preservation capacities, there has been a reduction of wastage of agri-horti produce.

(c): Due to adoption of modern and innovative technologies by the food processing units approved under the Scheme, the quality of the end products has also been improved.

(d): The State-wise funds are not allocated under the scheme. However, a statement indicating details of number of projects approved, grants-in-aid sanctioned and released state-wise is at Annexure.
