Question : Development of Expressway Projects

(a) the details of Expressway projects sanctioned by the Government along with the targets set for their completion;
(b) the number of Expressway projects lying pending along with the reasons therefor and the steps being taken by the Government for their early completion;
(c) the details of foreign companies engaged in construction work of these projects; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to set up any panel to monitor the implementation of these projects and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Details of expressways projects sanctioned, length completed, in implementation stage and balance for award are as under:

(b) All Expressway projects are targeted for completion by the year 2024-25.

(c) As of now, 3 foreign agencies namely Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn. Berhad (DMI), JiangXi Construction Engineering (Group) Corporation Limited & OJSC Euro-Asian Construction Corporation Evrascon are involved in the construction of Delhi – Mumbai Expressway and Delhi – Amritsar – Katra Expressway through Joint Ventures with Indian infrastructure companies Crescent EPC Projects & Technical Services Limited (JV with DMI for Delhi Mumbai Expressway), and MKC Infrastructure Limited (JV with JiangXi for Delhi – Mumbai Expressway and OJSC Evrascon for Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway).

(d) The implementation & timely completion of projects are monitored by Ministry and National Highways Authority of India at Head Quarter level as well as Regional Offices & Project Implementation Units level through periodic review meetings.
