Question : NEW MOBILE CONNECTIONS

(a) whether the Government has permitted Aadhaar Card as a universal electronic Know-Your -Customer (e-KYC) proof for procuring SIM cards in the country;

(b) if so, whether the Government has analysed the negative impacts of permitting Aadhaar Card as ID proof for getting new mobile connections;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the action taken by the Government to check its misuse by anti-social elements?

(a) The Government has not yet permitted Adhaar electronic Know-Your –Customer (e-KYC) service for procuring SIM cards by the subscribers in the country.
