Question : FACILITES FOR PIOS AND FOREIGNERS



(a) the total number of Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) cards issued and applications pending so far, country-wise;

(b) whether the visa on arrival facility will be extended to Kozhikode International Airport and also for citizens of more countries including USA and Australia; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) The details of OCI cards issued and application pending is enclosed as Annexure-1. Regarding PIO cards, powers have already been delegated to Indian Missions/FRROs concerned. There is no centrally maintained data by MHA.

(b) & (c): Government of India has introduced Tourist Visa on Arrival enabled by Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to facilitate foreign travellers visiting India to the nationals of the following 43 countries w.e.f. 27/11/2014:

Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Djibouti, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Laos, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Palestine, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, Ukraine, Vietnam, USA, Cook Island, Kingdom of Tongo, Tuvalu, Republic of Nauru, Republic of Kiribati, Vanuatu, Solomon Island, Samoa, Niue, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Repuhlic of Marshall Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea.

2. Tourist Visa on Arrival enabled by Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) facility is available at 9 Airports viz. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Tiruvanantapuram, Cochin and Goa Airports. Presently there is no proposal to extend Visa on arrival facility at Kozhikode International Airport.
