(a) the details of defunct irrigation schemes identified for reinvigoration till date;
(b) whether the Government proposes to reinvigorate the defunct irrigation schemes under the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) in the country;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the hectares of land likely to be irrigated with reinvigoration of the said schemes, State-wise?

(a) to (d) Water Resources Project are planned, funded, executed and maintained by the State Governments themselves as per their own resources and priority. In order to supplement the efforts of the State Governments, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation provides technical and financial assistance to State Governments to encourage sustainable development and efficient management of water resources through various schemes and programmes such as Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP) under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichayee Yojana (PMKSY).
Central Assistance for extension, renovation and modernization (ERM) of Major/Medium Irrigation projects is provided under AIBP. State-wise and project-wise details of 42 ERM projects included under AIBP are at Annexure.
