(a)to(c): `Police` and `Public Order` are state subjects as per the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India. The responsibility of detection, registration, investigation and prevention of crimes lies with the state governments. The State Governments are required to ensure that crimes are freely registered at the Police Stations.
