(a) whether the Union Government is contemplating to set up/open tribal and horticultural universities in Telangana;
(b) if so, the details along with the time by which the said universities are likely to be started; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) The Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act 2014 inter-alia envisages for establishment of one Central Tribal University in the State of Telangana. Recently, the State Govt has earmarked a land measuring 335.04 acres free from all encumbrances. Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers'' Welfare has informed that the Department has extended financial support for establishment of Telangana State Horticultural University and released an amount of Rs. 135.00 crores during the years 2014-2017.
