Question : DEMAND AD SUPPLY OF LPG



(a) the demand for LPG in the country;

(b) the production of LPG both in public and private sector, plant-wise;

(c) whether the Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has cut supply to the public sector marketing companies and also increased the price for LPG sales to public sector companies;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the Government`s reaction thereto;

(e) whether the Government proposes to import more LPG to meet the indigenous demand; and

(f) if so, the details thereof, company-wise?

(a) The consumption of LPG in the country during 2006-07 (Provisional) was 10855 TMT,

(b) The production of LPG both in public and private sector plant-wise is given in the Annexure.

(c) No, Sir.

(d) Do not arise in view of (c) above.

(e)&(f) In order to fill the gap between demand and production, public sector oil companies, are importing LPG. Company-wise import of LPG during 2006-07 (Prov.) is as under :
