Question : VOCATIONAL COMPUTER TRAINING TO MINORITY WOMEN



(a) whether the Government proposes to formulate any scheme to impart computer training to the women of minority communities;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard and the time by which it is likely to be implemented, location-wise?

(a) to (c): The National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), a Central Public Sector Enterprise of Ministry of Minority Affairs implements a scheme of Vocational Training for minorities including minority women. The scheme aims at imparting skills to the targeted beneficiaries leading to self /wage employment. Under this scheme, need based vocational training programmes are organized in various trades including computer trainings. The scheme is implemented all over the country through the State Channelising Agencies (SCAs) of NMDFC in respective States/UTs with the help of local Government owned / recognized training institutes. The cost of the training programme is upto Rs. 2000 per candidate per month for course of maximum duration of 6 months. Stipend of Rs. 1000 per month per trainee is also offered during the training.
