Question : SALE OF AIRCRAFTS BY AIR INDIA



(a) whether Air India propose to sell its seven aircrafts;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) the estimated amount likely to be got after selling these aircrafts;

(d) whether any plan has been made to purchase new planes for Air India;

(e) if so, the details thereof;

(f) the amount required for the said purpose; and
(g) the details of the countries from which such planes are being purchased alongwith the terms and conditions for such purchases and the cost of such planes?

(a), (b) & (c) : Air India has proposed to sell their three B747-200 aircraft bearing Registration Nos. VT-EBE, VT-EBN and VT-EDU for which advertisements were placed in leading aviation magazines. Amounts received for the three aircraft is about US $ 3.7 Million.

(d),(e), (f) and (g): Air India is planning to take a few aircraft on dry lease.
