(a) the guidelines for conferring President`s Police Medal;
(b) the number of officers who had been conferred with that distinction during the last three years;
(c) whether any grievance has been ventilated over the con- ferment during the said period; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): The guidelines for conferring President’s Police Medal are contained in the Statute published vide President’s Secretariat Notification No. 3-Pres and 4-Pres dated 1st March, 1951 (Annexure-I)
(b): The details of the number of officers who had been conferred with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service(PPDS) and President’s Police Medal for Gallantry(PPMG) during the last three years are given below:-

(c)&(d) The recommendations received from States/UTs/CAPFs/ CPOs for award of PPDS/PPMG are considered by a High Level Committee i.e. the Central Police Awards Committee(CPAC). This committee is presided over by the Union Home Secretary. The other members of the committee are 14 DG level officers from CPOs/ CAPFs/States. This Committee makes recommendations for approval of President of India. The grievances received from individuals are examined and appropriate action is taken on a case to case basis.
