(a) the targets set under the Atal Jyoti Yojana (AJY) for installation of street lights in the country; and

(b) the current status of its implementation and achievements made thereunder in the country especially Uttar Pradesh, as on date?

(a) Under Atal Jyoti Yojana (AJAY), this Ministry targeted to install around 2000 solar street lights in each of the 169 parliamentary constituencies in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh by 31 March 2018.
Phase-II of Atal Jyoti Yojana has been launched on 18.12.2018, under which a target of 3.04 lakh solar street lights has been kept.

(b) Under Phase-I, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), which is the implementation agency for AJAY Scheme has received sanction letters from 96 constituencies which include 54 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 20 constituencies in Bihar, 6 constituencies in Odisha, 9 constituencies in Jharkhand and 7 constituencies in Assam.
A total of 1,22,582 nos. of solar street lights have been installed in 5 states covered under the scheme. Out of this, 71,293 nos. of solar street lights have been installed in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
For Phase-II, the Implementing Agency has floated the tender for procurement of solar street lights.
