(a) various schemes being implemented for the development of sports and to provide job opportunities to the Unemployed sports persons in the country; and

(b) the number of unemployed sports persons benefited under the scheme, State-wise, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra during each of the last three years till date?

(a) & (b) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is implementing the following umbrella schemes for the development of sports in the country:-

1. Scheme relating to Institutions

2. Scheme relating to Awards

3. Scheme of Incentives for Promotion of Sports Activities

4. Scheme relating to Talent Search and Training

5. Scheme relating to Events

In addition, the following schemes are being implemented by Sports Authority of India (SAI), an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry.

1. National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC)

2. Army Boys Sports Company (ABSC)

3. Special Area Games (SAG)

4. SAI Training Centre (STC)

5. Centre of Excellence (COX)

No scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for providing job to the unemployed sportspersons in the country. However, in accordance with existing orders/instructions of the Department of Personnel and Training, 5% vacancies in Groups `C` and `D` posts are filled in Ministries/Departments by appointment of meritorious sportspersons in relaxation of the procedure. The sportspersons seeking employment are required to apply for these posts as and when they are advertised by respective organizations.
