(a) whether the Government proposes to provide technical and financial assistance to the farmers and also encourage the small entrepreneurs for making use of solar enegy;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the provisions made for availing the benefits of proposed technical and financial assistance; and
(d) the amount of funds allocated by the Government for implementing this scheme?

(a) & (b): Yes Madam, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been implementing Solar Pumping Programme for irrigation and allied agricultural activites by farmers. A Central Financial Assistance of up to Rs 57600 /Horse Power (HP) is being provided for this purpose
(c): The State Nodal Agencies (SNAs) are providing training to the farmers for the use of Solar Pumps. In addition to MNRE subsidy, states are also providing financial assistance of up to 55% of the total cost for the installation of Solar Pumps
(d): A budget of Rs. 670.cr is allocated for Off-Grid and Decentralized Solar Application Programme including solar pumps for the Financial Year 2016-17.
