(a) and (b) The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) implements two major afforestation schemes for increasing forest resources in the country, including Rajasthan, namely National Afforestation Programme (NAP) for tree plantation in degraded forests through people’s participation and National Mission for a Green India (GIM), for plantation on landscape basis. Besides, afforestation is a major activity under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund as per the provisions of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Act, 2016 and the Rules made thereunder.
(c) and (d) During last three years, an amount of Rs. 3.35 crore has been released to Rajasthan under NAP. No fund has been released under GIM during this period to Rajasthan. Further, an amount of Rs. 1748.26 crore, as share of the State as per Compensatory Fund Act, 2016, has been transferred to State Compensatory Afforestation Management Planning Authority (CAMPA) of Rajasthan from National Authority of CAMPA during 2019 for taking up various activities including afforestation as per approved Annual Plans of Operation (APO).
