(a) whether POSCO, the Korean Steel Company has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up of mega steel plant in Jagatsinghpur district in Odisha;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons for delay in setting up of the plant;
(c) whether there is any plan by POSCO to shift the plant from Odisha to any other place of the country; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a)&(b): No, Madam. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of POSCO, for setting-up of Mega Steel Plant in Jagatsinghpur District in Odisha has not yet been renewed since the company has not achieved the required milestones for renewal of MoU.
A proposal for giving approval for Prospecting License for iron ore over a notified area of 2082.502 hects has been sent to the Ministry of Mines, Government of India by State Government of Odisha on 01-11-2014. The matter is under examination.
(c)&(d): The Government is not aware of any such proposal.
