Question : Special Package to Promote MSMEs

(a) whether the Government has any proposal to give special package to establish and promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country including North Eastern region and nearby areas, Delhi/NCR, Bihar, Jhansi, Kushinagar etc. in near future;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of proposed package and its implementation mechanism; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) implements various schemes/programmes for the benefits of MSMEs in the entire country including North Eastern region, Delhi/NCR, Bihar, Jhansi, Kushinagar. These include Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Micro and Small Enterprises-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), Tool Rooms & Technology Centers, Mission Solar Charkha (MSC), Scheme for Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme (PMS), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP), Credit Guarantee Scheme, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy and Technology Upgradation Scheme (CLCS-TUS), etc.

For North Eastern Region and Sikkim, Ministry of MSME implements a special scheme component “Promotion of MSMEs in NER & Sikkim”.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) also implements Industrial Development Scheme for the Himalayan States, viz, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir.
