(DR. JITENDRA SINGH):

(a) Chandrayaan-2 Mission is the second lunar mission from ISRO. The prime objective is the demonstration of soft landing on moon. The mission consists of Orbiter, Lander (named Vikram) and Rover (named Pragyan).

(b) Chandrayaan-2 Mission was planned to be launched on 15th July 2019. However, due to technical snag observed in launch vehicle system, Chandrayaan-II launch was postponed. The revised launch date will be announced later once decided.

(c) All the required manoeuvres and mission management strategy has been worked out for the soft landing of the spacecraft on Moon. The same have been reviewed and finalized.

(d) The communication links and networks have been planned for the sojourn. The photo images are planned to be taken after reaching the Moon orbit and after landing.
