Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY(AYUSH) be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Unani Medicine Department has discovered an effective medicine for treatment of Vitiligo and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the said medicine is available on a large scale for the use of people in the country;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor and corrective measures taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): Ministry of AYUSH has set-up Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) which serves as apex body for formulation, coordination, development and promotion of research activities in Unani medicine system for various diseases. CCRUM has developed two combinations of drugs UNIM-001 (Oral) + UNIM-003 (Local) and UNIM-004 (Oral) + UNIM-005 (Local) which have shown significant favourable therapeutic response in treatment of Vitiligo.
(b) to (d): The drugs developed by the Council have been made available at the clinical Centres of the Council in the post-trial accessibility (PTA) OPDs so that patients could be benefited.
