(a) the reasons for which Government does not fix employment targets for the agriculture and rural industries sector; and
(b) whether it is a fact that in the industrial sector the highest employment generation potential is not in agricultural and rural industries?
THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES AND AGRO AND RURAL INDUSTRIES (SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)
(a): The Government provides financial assistance to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the KVIC allocates these funds to its implementing agencies namely the State/UT level KVI Boards, institutions, Cooperative Societies etc. The Government does not fix targets, as such.
(b): Rural industrial sector has immense opportunities for employment generation with relatively smaller investment.
