Question : BILATERAL AGREEMENTS WITH FOREIGN COUNTRIES



(a) the names of countries with whom Bilateral Air Services Agreement entered into by the Government during the last one year;

(b) whether any proposal regarding Bilateral Air Services Agreement with any country is presently under consideration of the Government;

(c) if so, the details thereof, Country-wise; and

(d) the time by which the decision is likely to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): During the last one year, India has signed/revised its Air Services Agreements with seven countries viz. USA, UK, Australia, Qatar, New Zealand, Tunisia and Iceland

(b), (c) and (d): Traffic rights for operation of international air services are reviewed from time to time as part of an on-going process depending on traffic demand, balance of benefit to our carriers, overall interest of national economy and political considerations. Actual operations including route selections are, however, left to the commercial judgement of the airlines.
