Question : INFORMATION OF CLEARANCES ON WEBSITE



(a) whether the National Green Tribunal has asked the Government to upload on its website all orders on granting environmental clearance within seven days of approval;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether it would help the public to challenge the approval within thirty days limitation period to be computed from the date on which approval is effectively communicated to public; and

(d) if so, the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)to (d): The National Green Tribunal (NGT), in its order dated 14th March, 2013, in case of M.A. no. 104 of 2012 has issued directions which, inter-alia, state that the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) shall, within seven days from the date of passing of the order of Environment Clearance, upload it on its website and ensure that the same is accessible and can be downloaded without any delay or impediment. It would remain so uploaded on website for a period of at least 90 days. The date on which the order of environmental clearance is communicated to the public at large, shall be the date from which the period of limitation shall be taken into account.
