(b) to (e): As per statistics provided by DGCIS (Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics), major items of import to India are in the sectors such as Mineral fuels & oils and product of their distillation, Natural or Cultured pearls, Precious or semi-precious metals, Electronic machinery & equipment, Nuclear reactors, Boilers, Organic chemicals, Plastic articles and Iron & Steel.
Ministry of MSME implements several schemes to encourage domestic manufacturing and to provide a competitive edge to the products of MSME sector in the international market. These initiatives help in growth & development of domestic industries, export promotion and also in minimizing import dependency.
(f): The Government has taken several initiatives to develop the manufacturing sector. These include Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS), Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme, Design Clinic Scheme, Building Awareness on Intellectual Property Right (IPR), Financial Support for ZED Certification, Digital MSME Scheme and Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development through Incubators, Micro and Small Enterprises- Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), Credit Guarantee Scheme for MSEs (CGTMSE), A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Rural Industry & Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI, National SC/ST Hub, Udyog Aadhar Memorandum (UAM) for ease of doing business etc.
