(b) Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD), a constituent unit of Department
of Atomic Energy (DAE), has established sizeable in situ reserves of thorium contained in the mineral
Monazite occurring in beach sands. The thorium reserves identified by AMD during the last three years
are as follows:
