(a) whether any small hydel power projects are pending before the Government for clearance and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(b) the estimated potential for power generation in the country from small hydro projects and the number of sites identified all over the country, State/UT-wise;
(c) the cumulative capacity installed so far, State/UT-wise; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to tap the vast potential of hydel energy across the country?

(a): No proposal from any State for Small Hydro Power Projects is pending in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for clearance.
(b): The State/UT-wise details of estimated potential for power generation from small hydro power in the country is given at Annexure-I.
(c): The State/UT-wise details of cumulative capacity installed as on 30.06.2015 is enclosed at Annexure-II.
(d): MNRE has been implementing a Scheme to tap the potential of Small Hydro Power (upto 25 MW station capacity) in the country. Various fiscal and financial incentives are provided under the Scheme for the development of Small Hydro Power.
