(a) the number of post offices functioning in Himachal Pradesh at present, district-wise ;
(b) whether the Government propose to open new post offices in the State during 2000 - 2001 ;
(c) if so, the details thereof, location-wise ; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor ?

(a) At present, 2767 post offices are functioning in Himachal Pradesh. District - wise details are given in Annexure `A`.
(b) to (d) The targets for opening of new post offices during 2000 - 2001 are yet to
to be finalized.
