Question : Generation of Power through Solar Energy

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:

(a) the quantum of power generated through solar energy in the country during the last five years;
(b) the total number of large scale solar projects undertaken by the Government especially in Gujarat;
(c) the amount of expenditure incurred thereon; and
(d) the total amount of subsidies and incentives provided to the entrepreneurs related to this sector, farmers and common people for using solar energy, State-wise?

STATEMENT

STATEMENT REFFERED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 165 FOR 28.07.2022 REGARDING GENERATION OF POWER THROUGH SOLAR ENERGY

(a) Central Electricity Authority has reported that the power generated through solar energy in the country during the last five years has been as under:

(b) As on 30.6.2022, solar power projects of 57.71 GW have been installed in the country, 48.7 GW are under installation and 16.7 GW are under bidding , totaling 123.1 GW. Total installed solar capacity in Gujarat is 7.81 GW and 6.1GW is under installation.
(c) Most of the solar power projects are installed by private sector developers and as per the normative cost of Rs. 4.5 Crore per MW, an expenditure of approximately Rs. 2.60 lakh crore has been incurred on solar installations of capacity 57.71 GW.
(d) State-wise details of funds released under various solar schemes of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) during the last three years are given at Annexure.
