Question : MIXED LAND USE IN DELHI



(a) the guidelines/norms for mixed land use in Delhi;

(b) whether commercial activities like iron-works are being undertaken in various colonies including unauthorized colonies;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the mechanism in place for complaining about such work and also the action taken/being taken by the Government for closure of such commercial activities?

(a):Guidelines/norms for mixed land use are stipulated in Chapter 15 of the Master Plan of Delhi-2021 (MPD-2021). Details of Chapter 15 of MPD-2021 may be seen at http://dda.org. in/ddanew/planning.aspx# by clicking “MPD-2021 (PDF) (Chapter 1-19)”.

(b) & (c): As per Clause 15.6.2 of MPD-2021, retail shops of building materials in respect of iron and steel activities are not allowed under mixed use.

(d): Director (Local Bodies), Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi has informed that whenever any complaint regarding misuse is noticed, the action against the same is taken by the Building Department of the respective Zone as per provisions of Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957. Municipal Corporations of Delhi have set up a Central Control Room (HQ), which is functioning round the clock for receiving online/telephonic complaints of unauthorized construction, encroachment, insanitation, water logging, misuse of the premises and other general complaints. In Central Control Room (HQ), complaints are received on Toll Free No. 1266. These complaints are immediately forwarded to concerned Zonal Control Rooms for prompt action.
