(a) An amount of Rs.10,585 crores is expected to be spent on NHDP Phase-I during the year 2002-2003.
(b) Status of NHDP as on 30th October, 2002, is as under:
(i) Golden Quadrilateral Project
Total Length : 5846 km. Completed/4-laned : 1159 km. Under Implementation : 4551 km. To be awarded : 136 km. Date of substantial completion : December, 2003.
(ii) North-South & East-West Corridor Project
Total Length : 7300 km. Completed/ 4-laned : 817 km. Under Implementation : 671 km. To be awarded : 5812 km. Date of completion : December, 2007.
(c) An amount of Rs. 10,158.01 crores has been spent upto October, 2002.
(d) Four metropolitan cities namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata will be connected under the first phase (Swarn Chaturbhuj) of this project.
