Question : Purchase of Crops on MSP

(a) whether the Government has purchased crops under the implementation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) during Kharif season 2020 and 2021;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the names of the crops alongwith their quantity purchased under the MSP during kharif season 2020 and 2021 in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana?

(a) and (b): Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) extends price support for procurement of paddy for central pool which are procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and State Government agencies.

Further, Coarsegrains are procured at MSP by State Governments as per the procurement plan prepared in consultation with FCI and approved by the Central Government, subject to its distribution by the State Government under National Food Security Act (NFSA)/ Other Welfare Schemes (OWS).

The quantity of paddy (as on 02.02.2021) and coarsegrains (as on 18.01.2021) procured for central pool during Kharif Marketing Season 2020-21 are as under:
