Question : Sample Testing of Coronavirus

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the number of AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries upgraded under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) during the last three years;

(b) whether Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals(DHs) have been upgraded with AYUSH facilities, if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise;

(c) the total number of seats offered to students in various AYUSH educational institutions under NAM;

(d) the number of seats increased during the last three years; and

(e) the estimated amount spent by the Government under NAM in the last three years?

(a): The number of AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries supported for upgradation under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) during the last three years is furnished at Annexure-I.
(b): Ministry of AYUSH is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) though States/UTs. Under NAM there is a provision of Co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs). State/UT Governments may avail the financial assistance for Co-location of AYUSH facilities at PHCs, CHCs and DHs by submitting the proposal through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). The number of Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs) supported for upgradation with AYUSH facilities, State/UT-wise under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) is furnished at Annexure-II.
(c) & (d): Under NAM, there is a provision of financial assistance for upgradation of AYUSH Educational Institutions and State/UT Governments may avail the financial assistance by submitting the proposal through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) as per the NAM guidelines. However, under NAM there is no provision for offering the seats to the students and increase of seats in the AYUSH Educational Institutions.
(e): Under NAM, Grant-in-aid of Rs.1362.69 Crore has been released to States/UTs in the past three years for development and promotion of AYUSH in the Country.
