Question : VOCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN MANIPUR



(a) the details of Vocational Institutions functioning at present in Manipur;

(b) the number out of them sanctioned by the Government during 1999-2000 in the State;

(c) the funds allocated to the State for providing Vocational education to the students during the last three years and till date; and

(d) the amount actually released by the Government for this purpose during the said period?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (SHRI JAYSINGRAO GAIKWAD PATIL)

(a) Under the scheme of Vocationalisation of secondary education, financial assistance is provided to the State Govt. for implementing Vocational education Programme in Higher secondary schools and also to NGOs for conducting innovative programme on Vocational education. At present the programme is being implemented in 19 schools by the State Government of Manipur. Four voluntary organizations have been granted financial assistance for running the programme.

(b) During the year 1999-2000, the following voluntary organizations were sanctioned grants:


(i) Intefrated Rural development Society, Silong, Imphal, Manipur. (grants released: Rs. 77,000/-)
(ii) Central council for Vocational Education, New Lambulane, C/o Lengton Store, New Cheekon, Imphal, Manipur. (Grants released: Rs.71,000/-

(c) &(d) funds allocated to the State govt. during the last three years is as under:
