(a): No, Sir. There is no proposal in the Government to formulate any overreaching policy which addresses concerns of privacy, Intellectual Property Rights and piracy in the Information Communication Technology Sector. However, the Government is formulating a National IPR Policy for all sectors including ICT.
(b): An all encompassing IPR Policy will promote a holistic and conducive ecosystem to catalyze the full potential of intellectual property for India’s economic growth and socio-cultural development, while protecting public interest. No time /target date has been fixed for finalizing the policy.
